When we first moved on our property, we planted 100 white pine seedlings for a Christmas Tree Farm. Several years ago, I rolled out into the forest on a hot summer day and noticed it must have been ten-fifteen degrees cooler. There were voids where we had given away Christmas trees. I started transplanting plants from my gardens to see what would flourish in the dry, shade of the pines. Hostas were an immediate hit and other plants were added as shown in the slideshow.
